sorry to bum you out. I was trying to give you a criticism in a lighthearted/joking manner but it didn't come across. Better to just lay it all out on the line -- This piece is just not my cup of tea. The problems I have with it are many: the color scheme, her face & giant ears, her rat tail, the space under crotch, the execution of the checkered flags, her feet overlapping, the lettering on the 100cc/150cc
You didn't bum me out, I just needed clarification to understand what the issues were. I can't incorporate criticism if I don't know what the criticisms are.
Some of your points I have to take on the chin, as I'm entirely to blame. The face and big ears, for example, are just how I draw people. Same for the flags and the lame "rat tail." I drew those, so that's all me.
Some of the other stuff I'm going to be a little more defensive about, or at least explain why I did what I did. The pose, while free handed, was referenced from a couple of photos. Everything below the waist came from one photograph, and I think I was reasonably close to it, so the legs and feet overlapping and the space at the crotch are based on reality, and not something I pulled out of my head. The outfit/figure was colorpicked from a screenshot of the game, but I completely agree that the "background" is ass and pure laziness. The fonts are all from the Mario Kart game, and I wanted to incorporate as many elements from that as possible.
Anyway, thanks for the critique, I really appreciate it. You made some valid points, sorry this wasn't your bag.
